As always when the two Madrid giants meet, the Champions League quarterfinal on Tuesday between Atletico and Real, saw tensions between the two sides flare.
Real Madrid dominated early on, with plenty of chances. Atletico goalkeeper Oblak was forced to make six saves, as the likes of Bale, Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo threatened throughout.
The second half saw Atletico fight back, causing some increasingly tense scenes. Midway through, Mario Mandzukic clashed with Sergio Ramos mid-air, causing the Croatian to sustain a mild head injury, later seen bleeding throughout the match.
However, it was first later on that the match had its first major flash-point, as Dani Carvajal unloaded a string of punches on the chest of Manzukic. The Spaniard hit Manzukic at least twice, directly in sight of referee Miloard Mazic.
But to the amazement of many on social media, and the press, Carvajal received no booking or punishment what-so-ever.
Just going to show how much the sport truly needs Video-Replays, in order to effectively Referee the game.
The match ended a 0-0 draw, with Athletico pressing until the final whistle.
